Treasures from the Garden

It's the beginning of January and most of the days are still sunny and its very pleasant outside and we take advantage of every minute is sun to spend outdoors in the crisp air.

I not really a winter girl but this year it feels good. It's not that cold yet and I can spend most of the day outside and that makes me happy.

The earth feels good too, you can see it.

Every day the girls and I walk around the farm and enjoy finding little treasures.

I discovered mushrooms this year, oh mushrooms….so tasty! I feel the forest with every bite.

An friend of mine who has been picking winter mushrooms for many years taught me which mushrooms are safe for cooking and which aren't. It's such a delight searching for them amongst the fallen leaves by the trees. Picking and preparing them for lunch.

Our pecan tree has had a good year too, I have never seen such a large amount of nuts on the ground for many years now.

The Daffodils and Cyclamen are blooming.

All is left is to fantasize about my vegetable garden…I already have the place set out and the desire, now I have to be just a bit more patient until February is over…and plant everything I can lay my hands on.

Have a wonderful week full of treasures.

Welcome 2013!!

2013 began few days ago and I feel full of energy as if something has changed.

I want to thank 2012 from the bottom of my heart, really. It was an amazing year, it had its difficulties and was full of challenges and changes.

I waited for her for a long time. I waited to have a baby, waited to move into my spacious home. It all happened in one year.
It was the first year of my little Geffen's life. A year full of renovations and building a new home, and here is 2013 and we are sitting in our beloved new home. The girls have grown and I feel a change.

Today was a perfect day.

I did Reiki for the first time in our new home. I waited a long time to do it and somehow I kept finding excuses, it has been a month since we moved in and finally sat on the couch. We built a corner in the bedroom for me called "The Ashram" which was designed Reiki treatment. Today with no special planning or intention I just stopped everything I was doing and put on wonderful calming music, I lit candles and began the treatment. I was so excited; I can't remember a treatment I had done to myself where I felt so moved. Something was there, something wonderful.

Parts from my "Ashram"

The remainder of the day was dedicated to beads. Yet another thing I haven't done for a while. I cleaned new beads, tidied up, photographed and started uploading them in my store.
In the afternoon the girls returned to me. We had lunch that Gili made and played.
In the afternoon I returned to the studio, sat down at my glass corner and made beads. I enjoyed myself so much. I think they came out really well.(will show them in other post)
Back home, kisses for my beautiful girls.
In the evening I went to a yoga class.

Did I already say I had a perfect day…?

A wonderful start to 2013

Wishing everyone a wonderful year filled with good experiences.
Good night

We're in our new home!!

It's been three weeks since my last post and I have so much to tell.
So many things have happened during these recent weeks.
I think I'll break it up into bits…

We moved.
After a long, tedious yet exhilarating renovation it finally happened.

We have been living in our new home for two and a half weeks and every moment still feels weird and exciting.

The house is big, light and spacious. Full of beautiful items I have collected. Some of them have already found their place and some are waiting patiently for their turn.

We are happy!

It's wonderful to wake up here.

It's wonderful to eat at the natural wooden food bar that Gili built.

It's wonderful to have a large living room, it lets the sunshine in and floods the space with light all hours of the day, it's warm and nice. We all soak up every ray of sun, even the cats.

Cooking in the kitchen is fun. It’s a big people's kitchen, with lots of drawers, wide marble counter, huge sink and large window looking out onto the farm.

The girls have fun in their rooms. Dror is totally in love with her bedroom and her upstairs gallery. She spends all her time there with her girlfriends and the house is full of giggles and laughter with costumes and fairy tales flying around in the air.

Gefen is crawling in every direction. She has plenty of space. She sits and babbles. She has developed so much over the past few weeks. You can see she is content

Amidst the fun and excitement I manage to work in the house non-stop, but really "non-stop". Constantly moving and arranging things, trying to get used to large space and living here. I am terribly tired but happy that the house is starting to look like a home. My mother arrived one day and within a moment she managed with her magic touch to arrange a few beautiful areas and corners here and there. The pictures are slowly finding their way onto the wall, decorations are being added and I already feel at home.

I love my home!

Wish you all the best,

Yoga and More

Last week I went to a Yoga class. Its been almost two years since I last did Yoga (pregnancy, birth and other excuses as such)
We received an email from the farm community saying that an Ashtanga Yoga class was starting up in our neighboring village. Yay! Now that there is a class right under my nose, I have no more excuses.

The class was weird, wonderful and different. My body has been screaming and begging me for months now to start moving, I'm tired of feeling like I'm atrophied… as the class progressed I felt my body remembering the positions, the feelings, the muscles that haven't been stretched in years…I could actually feel my body whispering thanks to me while it indulged with every twist, stretch and relaxation.
It was a wonderful class. At the end our instructor brought in some hot herbal tea and dates and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.

This week I went to class and more people had joined and even a few from my village. The class was wonderful and difficult and I enjoyed every moment. Afterwards, while drinking my hot tea I asked the girl who exercised in front of me where she was from and she answered "Sarona", my village.
I hadn't known her before, I'd never seen her, she's quite new here having bought a house only a year ago.
We chatted a bit about the upcoming "birthday" that our village is celebrating (74 years old!) and how lovely it is that a cake exchange had been organized to celebrate.
A draw was held and each family received the name of another family that they had to prepare a cake for. I don't even know who I'm baking for as I haven't checked my mailbox yet.
On the way home I thought to myself how we are sometimes attracted to certain energies in certain people…there was something about that girl that made me start talking to her, and lo and behold, she lives in the same village as I do! It's nice.

When I got back to the village I stopped at the post office to check my mail, there was the note showing the family that was drawn for the cake bake, I didn't recognize the name of the family at all. Just then the nice girl entered the village in her car; she stopped, asked me what family I got to bake for, I looked at the note and told her the name that I didn't recognize. She looked at me surprised and said "It's me! You got us…! unbelievable..
I love it when things like that happen.
Our village is not that small either, there are many families, and how could it be that out of everyone I got her in the draw!? And I had just met her minutes before... It's funny and wonderful and these incidents always make me stop and look up at the sky, and smile.

Here are cupcakes I made for her.

Have a sweet and magical week...
